Updated resource: EEBO (Early English Books Online)

THE LIBRARY HAS renewed its subscription to the Early English Books Online database on a new platform hosted by ProQuest. Check the Find Databases service for further details and access links to follow from on and off campus.

The resource is described as follows:

EEBO (Early English Books Online) contains page images of virtually every work printed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America, as well as works in English printed elsewhere between 1473 and 1700.

ECCO and EEBO – Library OneSearch connections updated

To reflect a recent change in LLR’s subscription profile, links to the ECCO (Eighteenth Century Collections Online) and EEBO (Early English Books Online) services in Library OneSearch have been updated to connect to the JISC Historic Books collection.

Through the JISC Historic Books service, ECCO and EBBO can be searched independently or jointly, alongside a collection of nineteenth century books from the British Library.

Access to JISC Historic Books is by university username and password, from on-campus and off-campus.

Chadwyck Healey – Shibboleth configuration changes

Following changes to Shibboleth configuration on the Chadwyck Healey database platform, off-campus deep-link login URLs for the following services have been updated in Library OneSearch:

  • ABELL
  • EEBO
  • House of Commons Parliamentary Papers (HCPP) – 18th Century
  • House of Commons Parliamentary Papers (HCPP) – 19th Century
  • House of Commons Parliamentary Papers (HCPP) – 20th Century
  • John Johnson Collection
  • LION
  • MLA

Early English Books Online – Shibboleth authentication

Off-campus access to EEBO (Early English Books Online) is now by university username and password (using the Shibboleth framework).

Links in eSearch have been updated accordingly. A guide to accessing EEBO using Shibboleth has been added to the eServices Support wiki.
