Access to the International Bibliography of the Social Sciences is now provided through the CSA Illumina platform (it was previously made available to LLR customers through the EBSCOhost interface; and, before that, through the OvidSP platform).
Access is direct on-campus and by university username and password from off-campus. Metasearching and remote searching of IBSS is enabled in eSearch.
Metasearching and remote searching of the Emerald platform (which was suspended in the summer) was re-enabled ahead of the beginning of the autumn term, following the release and deployment of a new search configuration by Ex Libris.
Access to the IBSEDEX service has been suspended in eSearch, pending the resolution of technical and subscription issues. A ‘fault’ icon has been added to the resource display in eSearch.
Access to the Geography service has been withdrawn from eSearch, following the conclusion of LLR’s current subscription.
Access to the ejournal collection provided by European Business ASAP has been withdrawn from eSearch, following the conclusion of LLR’s current subscription. All the titles in the collection have been withdrawn from SFX (Find it @ NTU). Catalogue records for titles in the collection which are only available from European Business ASAP will be withdrawn from the Library Catalogue at the next refresh of the ejournal record set.
Access to the ANTE service has been withdrawn from eSearch, following the conclusion of LLR’s current subscription.
Access to the Trading Standards Specialist has been withdrawn from eSearch, following the conclusion of LLR’s current subscription.
The access page for the Business Insights service in eSearch has been synchronised to match that provided for the Verdict service.
Access to the ESDS service in eSearch has been updated to point to the UK Data Archive entry point. Access to the data sets in the collection is still by university username and password, and requires individual registration. The description of the registration process has also been updated and extended in eSearch.
Off-campus access to the FAME (new interface) service has now been activated in eSearch. (Previously only on-campus access was available.) Access is by university username and password (using Shibboleth). Off-campus links to both the FAME (new interface) and FAME services have also been updated to resolve directly to the NTU Single Sign-on page (bypassing the WAYF – ‘Where Are You From?’ – page).
Access to the Business Source Complete full-text database has been enabled in eSearch. Access is direct on-campus and by university username and password from off-campus. Business Source Complete replaces the ‘Business Source Premier’ service (which has now been withdrawn from eSearch and SFX). All of the full-text titles in Business Source Complete service have been enabled in SFX. Catalogue records for titles in the collection will be added to the Library Catalogue at the next refresh of the ejournal record set.
Wiley journals are now made available through the integrated Wiley Online Library platform. All links from SFX to Wiley journals have been redirected to this new location to ensure continuity of access. Wiley are in the process of enabling Shibboleth based authentication for NTU for off-campus access to Wiley titles. As well as being able to customise the interface display (by the inclusion of an NTU logo, which links back to the NTU web site), Wiley now makes full-text entitlement much more transparent to the visitor. On the Wiley InterScience platform, entitlement was only confirmed at the point of an individual full-text request, and there was no view within the platform which made clear which issues of a particular journal were available as part of the subscription range. The Wiley Online Library now incorporates a padlock graphic display to indicate which issues are ‘locked’ and ‘unlocked’ in full-text – see illustration below:
