Withdrawn resource: JISC eBook Observatory Project: 16 records removed; 20 retained
LLR will retain access to 20 of the 36 eBook titles from the now-concluded JISC eBook Observatory Project; while access to the remaining 16 titles will be withdrawn.
Details are as follows: Of the 36 eBook titles included in the JISC eBook Observatory Project, 26 titles were hosted on the MyiLibrary platform and 10 on the Books@Ovid platform. With the Project now concluded, records for the 10 titles on the Ovid platform have been removed from the Library Catalogue. Access to 20 of the MyiLibrary titles from the Project is being retained in perpetuity, and updated Shibboleth login links are being added to the catalogue records for those titles; while the records for the six withdrawn MyiLibrary project titles have been deleted.

Withdrawn resource: Mad.co.uk
Access to the Mad.co.uk service will be withdrawn from eSearch later today, following a decision not to extend LLR’s current subscription to the resource. The entry for the Mad.co.uk service on the ‘Other Passwords’ page will also be removed. No existing registrations from NTU staff and students will be accepted on the Mad.co.uk site from 4 February.
Withdrawn resources: Interior Design Handbook, OSH-ROM, JustCite
The listing for the Interior design handbook has been withdrawn from eSearch.
The entry for the OSH-ROM service has also been withdrawn (this resource has been superseded by the new OSH-UPDATE service, available in eSearch).
The entry for the JustCite service has been withdrawn from eSearch.
Withdrawn resource: Child Abuse, Child Welfare and Adoption
The Child Abuse, Child Welfare and Adoption database has been withdrawn from service, and has been removed from eSearch.
Unscheduled withdrawal of the ‘Shelob’ web server
The Shelob web server was withdrawn from service at NTU last week, leading to the loss of access to several important web files still being used by LLR on the server. This meant that the links in eSearch to BCIS (Building Cost Information Service) and FORS (Forensic Science Service) temporarily stopped working. This links have now been reinstated. It has also meant that the NTU ‘banner’ in the eBrary eBook interface no longer displayed correctly. This banner will be reinstated by eBrary shortly.
Withdrawn resources: networked CD-ROMs
As a result of the recent review of networked CD-ROM provision, LLR has decided to withdraw all networked CD-ROMs from service and provide alternative access to selected CD-ROM materials which are still required for learning, teaching and research purposes. These alternative access routes will be available prior to the start of the autumn term. However, links to all CD-ROM titles have now been withdrawn from eSearch as the contracts with LLR’s external suppliers which support the CD-ROM network have now lapsed. More detailed information on the small number of CD-ROM titles that will, in future, be delivered in an alternative electronic format will be provided shortly.
Withdrawn resource: UKOP
The listing for UKOP (the UK Official Publications database) which was previously suspended in eSearch has now been withdrawn completely. Future subscription options for this service will be under review shortly.
