ProQuest research databases will be unavailable on Sunday, August 10, from 03:00 to 11:00 (GMT) due to planned maintenance. This includes the EBook Central platform, which provides access to several eBooks in our library collections.
For more information, please visit the ProQuest support page.

Starting Monday 28th July, EBSCO databases will feature a more streamlined and user-friendly interface. The new EBSCOhost platform will enhance the search experience, offering features such as permanent links for searches and articles, filters that carry over to future searches, and easier options for downloading and exporting.

For more detailed information on the new platform features, please explore the New EBSCOhost Interface – Quick Start Guide.
The interface switchover will affect all EBSCOhost databases provided through NTU:
Important information for MyEBSCO account holders
If you created a MyEBSCO account to save and organise your research, please note that saved articles and saved searches will be migrated to the new EBSCOhost interface, but search alerts, journal alerts, persistent links to searches and custom folders will not be migrated.
We encourage you to make a record of your searches and journal alerts before the 28th July if you wish to recreate them on the new platform. For custom folders, please visit the How can I download the data from MyEBSCO custom folders in the classic EBSCO interfaces help page for details on how to download a report and use it to recreate your custom folder content on the new EBSCOhost interface. Please note that this feature will only be available until 31st December 2025.

Emerald and Silverchair have partnered to launch an updated and improved version of Emerald Insight, which will now include the ICE Virtual Library. Starting from July 21, 2025, Emerald will be migrating content from both Emerald Insight and the ICE Virtual Library to this new platform. Links will automatically redirect, ensuring minimal impact on access to resources.
Users with existing Emerald or ICE accounts will have their accounts migrated and consolidated. They will need to reset their passwords the first time they log in after the new platform is launched.
For more information, please visit the dedicated FAQ page.

Access to our ACS subscribed content has been restored. You can now access ACS articles and journals through Library OneSearch or our ACS database record.

Access to the BCIS (Building Cost Information Service) database has been updated with a new login method. NTU staff and students must now complete a registration process that includes creating an individual account.
For more information, please see the registration guide attached to the BCIS record in Find Databases.

Taylor & Francis eBooks has recently migrated to a new eReader, which now supports ePubs and offers improved accessibility and personalisation settings.
Please note that if you have used personalisation features such as Bookshelf, Bookmarks and Notes on the old eReader, you will need to set them up again in the new eReader by February 16, 2025, as existing records or instances will not be transferred. After this date, the old eReader will be fully retired and become unavailable.
For more information, please visit the dedicated FAQ page on the Taylor & Francis website.

AFTER UPGRADING TO a new platform several months ago, Lexis+ UK (formerly known as LexisLibrary) is now planning to stop redirecting any old LexisLibrary links to Lexis+ UK on Sunday 21 April.
Before this date, please consider using the redirect to update LexisLibrary links you may have bookmarked, as any of these links will return error messages such as “Service Unavailable” or “Unfortunately we can’t find the page you’re looking for” after the service is decommissioned. LexisLibrary links have ‘www.lexisnexis.com’ as part of their URL, while new Lexis+ links use ‘plus.lexis.com’.
Past April 21, accessing these resources from outdated bookmarks will require to manually search for them in the new platform, and create new bookmarks from permalinks in Lexus+ UK if you wish to save them again.
If you have bookmarked old LexisLibrary links and need assistance in updating them, please get in touch with the library.
