Time to update your old LexisLibrary links

AFTER UPGRADING TO a new platform several months ago, Lexis+ UK (formerly known as LexisLibrary) is now planning to stop redirecting any old LexisLibrary links to Lexis+ UK on Sunday 21 April.

Before this date, please consider using the redirect to update LexisLibrary links you may have bookmarked, as any of these links will return error messages such as “Service Unavailable” or “Unfortunately we can’t find the page you’re looking for” after the service is decommissioned. LexisLibrary links have ‘www.lexisnexis.com’ as part of their URL, while new Lexis+ links use ‘plus.lexis.com’.

Past April 21, accessing these resources from outdated bookmarks will require to manually search for them in the new platform, and create new bookmarks from permalinks in Lexus+ UK if you wish to save them again.

If you have bookmarked old LexisLibrary links and need assistance in updating them, please get in touch with the library.

Updated resources: Lexis+ UK and Nexis

LEXIS+ UK AND NEXIS are new platforms that have replaced Lexis Library and Nexis UK.

Updated listings for Lexis+ UK and Nexis are available from the Find Databases service.

Authenticated access to the resources is by university username and password from both on and off campus.

Over 4,700 individual titles from both resources are now discoverable on Library OneSearch including a wide range of books and journals, legal commentary and a selection of UK newspapers.

A guide is available explaining how to migrate saved data including alerts, saved searches and bookshelf sources from Lexis Library to the new Lexis+ UK platform. This guide will be available until the end of November 2022.

LexisLibrary – access to News and International Content restored

LexisLibrary have now partially resolved access to the ‘News’ and ‘International Content’ section of the platform both on and off campus.

However, direct access to title level content from within Library OneSearch is still not available when choosing ‘online access’ and results in an ‘unavailable’ page.

We are continuing to work with the Lexis technical team to try and resolve this issue.

LexisLibrary – access to some content is unavailable

We are currently working with the technical team at LexisLibrary to try and restore access to the News and International Content sections of the platform, which have become unavailable since a recent upgrade.

Attempts to access these sections, either on or off campus, results in an error page.

A further update will follow once the issue is confirmed as resolved.

LexisLibrary: on-campus access reinstated

THE ACCESS PROBLEMS affecting the Lexis Library service, reported on 31 October, are ongoing.

It has been possible this morning to reinstate on-campus access to LexisLibrary (which is now direct from any device connected to the university network); off-campus access is not yet available, but will be reinstated as soon as possible.

Lexis Library and Nexis UK – login issues

THE LIBRARY IS working with colleagues in Information Systems and external providers to reinstate access to the Lexis Library and the Nexis UK platforms, access to which are currently unavailable on-campus and off-campus.

Attempts to log in to either service using a university username and password resolve to an error page.

A further update will follow once access to both Nexis UK and Lexis Library is confirmed as working normally once more.

Lexis Library and Nexis UK – login issues

The technical team at Lexis are investigating an issue which is preventing login requests to both the Lexis Library and Nexis UK services from completing successfully.

Requests from the Find Databases service of Library OneSearch resolve to an error page that reports a problem in the communication exchange between the Lexis platform and NTU’s single sign-on environment.

A further update will follow once the issue is confirmed as resolved.
