Updates on electronic resources from the library of Nottingham Trent University

The issues with viewing and downloading images reported earlier in the week have now been resolved by the IT Technicians at Creative Club.
There is currently an issue with viewing and downloading images within the Creative Club database.
The technical team for Creative Club are currently working to resolve this and apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing.

The Box of Broadcasts (BoB) service is undergoing “emergency maintenance” today (Friday 8 November 2019) between 12:00 and 13:00. Please consider the service “at risk” during these times.
A routine maintenance period on the ProQuest eBook platforms is scheduled for Saturday 19 October 2019, between 17:00 and 20:00 (UK time). This means that the following ProQuest eBook platform and service, to which the library subscribes, will be unavailable throughout this three hour period:
Access to Nexis UK for both on and off-campus users has been restored.
Both on and off-campus options from Find Databases now redirect via NTU single sign-on to the home page of the platform once successfully logged in.
Links to individual titles from within Library OneSearch are in the process of being restored and should be available shortly.

We are currently working with Nexis UK to investigate access problems to Nexis UK for both on and off-campus users.
Attempts to sign in result in a failure message.
A further update will follow once access to the Nexis UK platform is confirmed as restored.

A routine maintenance period on the ProQuest eBook platforms is scheduled for Saturday 20 July 2019, between 17:00 and 20:00 (UK time). This means that the following ProQuest eBook platform and service, to which the library subscribes, will be unavailable throughout this three hour period:

During August one of our ebook providers, Askews and Holt, will be launching a new enhanced reader to replace the existing VLEeBooks reader.
Once migrated to the new reader any browser bookmarks for particular titles will no longer work and these will need to be re-accessed via Library OneSearch.
In preparation for the migration any user who wishes to save any notes stored on the current reader will be required to export these by Friday 12th July, otherwise they will be lost.

Any titles stored within ‘My Bookshelves’ also need to be noted for future addition to the new reader as these will not transfer over when migration happens.
The new reader will include many new features such as highlighting, sophisticated note options, improved accessibility and mobile responsiveness.
LexisLibrary have now partially resolved access to the ‘News’ and ‘International Content’ section of the platform both on and off campus.

However, direct access to title level content from within Library OneSearch is still not available when choosing ‘online access’ and results in an ‘unavailable’ page.

We are continuing to work with the Lexis technical team to try and resolve this issue.
