LexisLibrary – access to News and International Content restored

LexisLibrary have now partially resolved access to the ‘News’ and ‘International Content’ section of the platform both on and off campus.

However, direct access to title level content from within Library OneSearch is still not available when choosing ‘online access’ and results in an ‘unavailable’ page.

We are continuing to work with the Lexis technical team to try and resolve this issue.

Passport – access restored

Following the recent outage across the Euromonitor International network we’ve now received confirmation from their technical team that all the issues have been resolved and access is again restored.

Access to Passport is direct on campus and by university username and password (using Shibboleth) off campus.

Euromonitor have apologised for the length of the disruption and any inconvenience this may have caused.

Due to a system outage across the entire Euromonitor International network the Passport system is currently unavailable.

Technical staff at Euromonitor are working to resolve these issues and a further update will follow once access is restored.

WGSN – changes to registration process

As of Wednesday 24 April any new users creating educational WGSN accounts will have to register using their NTU email address ending in either @ntu.ac.uk or @my.ntu.ac.uk.

Any other attempts to register with a non-NTU email domain such as gmail or hotmail will result in a failed registration attempt.

Students and staff that have previously registered with personal email accounts will still be able to access their existing accounts.

Proquest Refworks – scheduled maintenance – 20 April 2019

PROQUEST REFWORKS WILL be conducting scheduled maintenance for approximately 1 hour on 20 April 2019 between 15:00 and 16:00.

They have advised that during this time new Refworks will be offline.

Write-n-Cite will be available offline, but users will not be able to sync their references with Refworks.

All existing references will be maintained and available at the end of the maintenance window.

ProQuest eBook platforms – scheduled maintenance – 20 April 2019

A routine maintenance period on the ProQuest eBook platforms is scheduled for Saturday 20 April 2019, between 17:00 and 19:00 (UK time). This means that the following ProQuest eBook platform and service, to which the library subscribes, will be unavailable throughout this two hour period:

  • EBook Central

LexisLibrary – access to some content is unavailable

We are currently working with the technical team at LexisLibrary to try and restore access to the News and International Content sections of the platform, which have become unavailable since a recent upgrade.

Attempts to access these sections, either on or off campus, results in an error page.

A further update will follow once the issue is confirmed as resolved.

Proquest Refworks – scheduled maintenance – 22 Feb 2019

PROQUEST REFWORKS WILL be conducting scheduled maintenance for approximately 4 hours on 22 Feb 2019 between 23:00 and 03:00 23 Feb 2019.

They have advised that during this time new Refworks will be offline.  Write-n-Cite will be available offline, but users will not be able to sync their references with Refworks.

All existing references will be maintained and available at the end of the maintenance window.

IDS Employment Law Brief migrated to Westlaw UK

Following the migration of IDS Employment Law Brief to Westlaw UK it has been withdrawn from Find Databases as a separate resource.

Access to IDS Employment Law is now available as an additional menu item within the Westlaw UK site, which can be accessed both on and off campus using a university username and password.

New resource: XpertHR

ACCESS TO THE XpertHR database has been enabled in the Find Databases service.

The resource is described as follows:

XpertHR is a comprehensive source of HR compliance, good practice and benchmarking information provided by the RELX group. A team of lawyers and HR subject specialists work with more than 100 expert external contributors to produce up to date resources for any HR professional. The database is searchable by task, topic or tool. The different tools available include: employment law, templates, pay surveys and benchmarking and good practice.

Access to the resource is by university username and password from on-campus and off-campus.

The university’s subscription to XpertHR is being paid for by Nottingham Business School, and the current subscription period ends on 15 September 2019.
