THE TECHNICAL PROBLEM preventing off-campus access to the Ulrich’s periodicals directory from off-campus has now been fully resolved.
Access to the Ulrich’s service is again available through the Find Databases listing for the resource using a university username and password.
As a reminder, the resource is described as follows:
A searchable reference source for information on periodicals, magazines and publishers. Updated weekly.
Off-campus access to the Ulrichsweb service (which was previously by ‘resource specific username and password’) is now available by university username and password.
Resource details have been updated in Library OneSearch and SFX.
The entry for Ulrichsweb on the Other Passwords page of the LLR web site will be withdrawn shortly.
Access to the Ulrich’s Web service was restored on 14 September after a temporary interruption. Access is once again direct on-campus and by a resource-specific username and password from off-campus.
The LLR web site and NOW Library Catalogue search widgets have been confirmed as retrieving results from the upgraded v.20 of ALEPH on its new sever. Search connections from eSearch and SFX are also now configured to connect correctly, as do remote searches from RefWorks, Ulrich’s, Journal Citation Reports and a number of other external services.
It is now possible to run an ISSN or Title search on the LLR Library catalogue from the Full View of any journal record within the Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory (although, we can’t, unfortunately, correct Ulrich’s spelling of ‘Catalog’ :). The twin direct search links are located above the navigation tabs of the record (see illustration below).
