Updates on electronic resources from the library of Nottingham Trent University
A fresh period of temporary access to Verdict Reports through the MarketLine service has now been agreed, pending finalised subscription and licencing agreements.
Access to Verdict Reports has therefore been re-enabled through the Find Databases option in Library OneSearch.
The period of temporary access to Verdict Reports provided through the MarketLine service has now expired, and as a result access to Verdict Reports has been suspended in Library OneSearch, pending new subscription arrangements.
A further update will follow as-and-when access to Verdict Reports is restored and re-enabled in Library OneSearch.
The issue preventing the purchase of eBrary PDA titles, reported on 12 December 2012, has now been resolved.
Purchase requests for PDA titles on the eBrary platform are now being accepted normally in line with the configuration of the PDA plan and profile.
Access details for the Studies on Women and Gender Abstracts service have been updated in Library OneSearch, to deep-link direct to the appropriate section of the Taylor and Francis site. Access remains direct on-campus and by university username and password from off-campus.
The Urbadoc database has been withdrawn from Library OneSearch following the withdrawal of the service by the providers.
Due to an ongoing technical problem, off-campus requests to the OSIRIS service have been resolving (post-authentication) to the FAME interface (a separate resource provided on the same platform).
This issue has now been resolved, so that login requests resolve to the OSIRIS interface.
However, an automatic pop-up window launched for off-campus requests by the OSIRIS service would have caused a conflict with the way that Library OneSearch manages new window requests for databases – which would have rendered the resource inaccessible on some off-campus browsers. To overcome this problem, off-campus login requests to OSIRIS are routed through an interim page (in effect, one additional click) which ensures that OSIRIS new window requests launch normally.
Off-campus access to the Ulrichsweb service (which was previously by ‘resource specific username and password’) is now available by university username and password.
Resource details have been updated in Library OneSearch and SFX.
The entry for Ulrichsweb on the Other Passwords page of the LLR web site will be withdrawn shortly.

URLs and guidance information in Library OneSearch have been updated accordingly.
The JSTOR technical team has identified the cause of the ongoing problem that which is continuing to cause some full-text requests to journal articles on the JSTOR platform to fail.
The team hope to have a resolution for the problem in place shortly, but at present, the issue is continuing to cause intermittent problems.
Title level requests continue to work normally. An A-Z list of current ejournal titles available through LLR’s subscription to JSTOR collections is available:

Access to electronic version of The Economist journal concludes today at the end of LLR’s subscription to the resource through the ProQuest platform.
Access has been switched off in SFX, the ejournal record suppressed in Aleph and the entry in Library OneSearch will be updated shortly.
A total of 157 eBook titles from the American Psychological Association (APA) PsychNET collection is now available in Library OneSearch. Access is direct on-campus and by university username and password from off-campus.
Examples eBooks from the collection include: Cognitive-behavioral therapy for refractory cases; Young children with ADHD: Early identification and intervention; and Perceived organizational support: fostering enthusiastic and productive employees
A total of 183 eBook titles from the ‘Palgrave Political & International Studies collection 2012’ are now available in Library OneSearch.
LLR has been working extensively with Palgrave to generate title-level deep-links for the eBook records in the collection which will work for both on-campus and off-campus requests; and a working solution is now in place. (The format of these links may change in future, but the records themselves will persist with their current LMS identifiers). Access to all titles is direct on-campus and by university username and password from off-campus.
Example entries the new collection include American military intervention in unconventional war; Understanding collective political violence; The future of entrepreneurship in Latin America; and Authoritarian party structures and democratic political setting in Turkey.
As well as providing online and downloadable .pdf formats for all titles, selected eBooks from Palgrave Connect are available for download/upload to a range of eBook readers in the EPUB format. Palgrave Connect employs “permissive DRM, enabling users in subscribing institutions to download ebook content without any physical restrictions”.
