More than 100 additional titles from the Knowledge Unlatched open access eBook initiative are now discoverable through Library OneSearch. As was the case with the original set of titles added to LOS back in May 2016, these new titles are made openly available online through a collaborative funding partnership of which Libraries and Learning Resources is a member.

A total of 730 new eBook titles from the library’s Elsevier eBook series and backfiles collections have been added to Library OneSearch in recent weeks. Access to the new titles is direct on-campus and by university username and password from off-campus. A few examples include:

The MyiLibrary technical team report that the issues affecting access to eBook content on the MyiLibrary platform reported yesterday have now been resolved. Access to all acquired eBook content on the platform should now be available again for NTU staff and students, on and off campus.

Widely reported service problems are currently affecting access to content on the MyiLibrary eBook platform. A range of different errors, slow response times and failures to deliver content are all cited. MyiLibrary’s technical team is aware of the issues and is working to restore the platform to normal service.
A further update will follow once the current issues are confirmed as resolved.


Following a detailed review by the Research Support and Learning and Teaching teams, a number of changes have been made to the list of resources made available through the Find Databases service of Library OneSearch (which will also be reflected, later today, in searches in the ‘All’ search tab of LOS). The changes are detailed below:

Further to the previous Evidence Based Acquisition (EBA) eBook project update (4 May 2016), 17,879 Wiley UCBM records have now been suspended from discovery in Library OneSearch (following the conclusion of the Wiley discovery phase at the end of May).
These Wiley titles will be reviewed during the selection phase (during which the library decides which titles will be bought outright in perpetuity, and which will be withdrawn from the collection) alongside the EBA collections from Bloomsbury, Oxford Scholarship Online, Sage and Cambridge University Press.
Access to a total of sixty-five eBook titles made available through the Knowledge Unlatched initiative are now available through Library OneSearch. With funding jointly provided by libraries signing up to the initiative, the titles included in the collection are made available as open access full-text. This first set of titles are from the ‘pilot’ and ’round 2′ phases of the projects. A further forty-one titles will be released during the ’round 2′ phase, and these will be added to LOS as they are made accessible.
