Withdrawn resources: networked CD-ROMs
As a result of the recent review of networked CD-ROM provision, LLR has decided to withdraw all networked CD-ROMs from service and provide alternative access to selected CD-ROM materials which are still required for learning, teaching and research purposes. These alternative access routes will be available prior to the start of the autumn term. However, links to all CD-ROM titles have now been withdrawn from eSearch as the contracts with LLR’s external suppliers which support the CD-ROM network have now lapsed. More detailed information on the small number of CD-ROM titles that will, in future, be delivered in an alternative electronic format will be provided shortly.
Withdrawn resource: UKOP
The listing for UKOP (the UK Official Publications database) which was previously suspended in eSearch has now been withdrawn completely. Future subscription options for this service will be under review shortly.
Census Registration Service – Shibboleth authentication active

* Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research (CCSR) (for the Samples of Anonymised Records (SARs), 1991-2001).
* Census Dissemination Unit (CDU) (at Mimas for the aggregate outputs and related geographical datasets, 1971-2001).
* Centre for Interaction Data Estimation and Research (CIDER) (for origin-destination statistics, 1981-2001).
* UKBORDERS (at Edina for digitised boundary datasets, 1971-2001).
Registration to make use of these services will also provide access to Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS) and ESDS International through the UK Data Archive.
Authentication for on-campus and off-campus customers wanting to register to use these services is now available through the Shibboleth framework, and links to the relevant databases have been updated in eSearch.
It is possible for customers with an existing Athens-based registration to transfer their registration to the new Shibboleth authentication system. Details of this process and a walkthrough guide are provided in the relevant section of the eServices Support wiki.
