Technical issues affecting the NTU Single Sign-on service mean that many electronic library resources are currently inaccessible from off-campus. Many library resources and services that require university username and password authentication on-campus are also affected. Teams across the university are working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
The issues affecting the off-campus link to Practical Law from the Find Databases page have now been resolved and the off-campus link is working again.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused whilst working to restore access.
We are currently investigating an issue with the off-campus access option from the Find Databases page for Practical Law.
Using the link will land you at the above Practical Law page but without first completing the NTU Single Sign part and granting access as an NTU user.
Whilst we work with ThomsonReuter to try and resolve direct access and to get full access, please use the Sign In option at the top right of the screen and then the ‘Access through academic institution’ option to the bottom of this page.
After searching and selecting Nottingham Trent University from the list of institutions you should then be directed to the NTU Single Sign On page and successful completion of this should then return you back to Practical Law as a signed in NTU user.
A scheduled system maintenance period for the Box of Broadcasts platform will begin Friday 6th August 2021 at 07:00. The provider advises that the service should be considered ‘at risk’ during this time.
The authentication issues that were affecting all the Elsevier products, such as Science Direct, Scopus and Mendeley, have now been reported as fixed by the Elsevier technical team.
If you are still experiencing any error messages they advise to clear both cookies and browser cache before retrying before reporting further.
Elsevier apologise for any inconvenience this outage may have caused.
THE TECHNICAL PROBLEMS preventing authenticated access to the Mintel platform reported earlier this morning have now been resolved.
Authenticated access to the service is now available once more, from both on-campus and off-campus, through the Find Databases listing for the resource.
A NUMBER OF ProQuest services will be unavailable during a planned maintenance period beginning at 03:00 and ending by 11:00 on Saturday 30 January.
Of the different ProQuest resources that may be affected for some or all of that period, key ones for customers of Libraries and Learning Resources are:
The main ProQuest platform (44 separate databases)
Alexander Street Press platform
Chadwyck-Healey databases
Ebook Central
ProQuest Syndetic Solutions (book data enhancement in Library OneSearch)
The RefWorks service is not affected by this planned maintenance period.
The real-time status of all ProQuest services can be checked on the ProQuest Status Page.
