Digimap: access extended to include the Environment collection

The library’s subscription to the Digimap service has now been extended to include the Environment collection (which joins the existing subscription to the Ordnance Survey, Historic, Geology and Discover services of Digimap). Access to this additional collection is initially available until the end of July 2014.

Environment Digimap offers two facilities: mapping and data download. The data available is raster and provides a snapshot of land cover for each of the years 1990, 2000 and 2007. Each data set is available at 25m and 1km resolutions. The exception to this is a vector version of the 2000 data set. The data are available in a range of formats depending on the year. Individual collections (and sets of collections) within Digimap require a separate registration process prior to access. As this registration process can take several working days, access to collections is not immediate on the first visit, but will become available as the registration is accepted.
