Upgraded resource: BFI Player

THE LIBRARY HAS upgraded the level of access to the streaming film services provided by the British Film Institute’s BFI Player to include subscription-only material in addition to the free-to-view content that was already available.

The Find Databases listing for the BFI Player has been updated accordingly:

BFI Player is a video-on-demand service from the British Film Institute, streaming acclaimed landmark and archive films from Britain and Europe as well as international releases and film collections including BFI Flare LGBTQIA+, Visionary Directors and Black Stories. Nottingham Trent University students and staff can register an account which will allow them to watch content in the subscription as well as the free collections. Please note, rentals and festival events are not included in the subscription offer. BFI Player is unavailable outside the UK.

Nottingham Trent University staff and students will need to register for a BFI account and then associate that account with their university account to gain access to the subscription content. An illustrated walkthrough of the registration and sign-in process is provided on the new Registration Guide accessed through the Find Databases listing for the resource.
